Kharg Petrochemical Company was initially registered as a Private Joint Stock Company, affiliated with the National Petrochemical Company of Iran, under registration number 11569 on June 29, 1967, at the Tehran Companies Registration and Industrial Property Office.
The company was converted into a Public Joint Stock Company on September 11, 1996, and was subsequently listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange on January 16, 1999.
The company’s head office is located in Tehran, while its production complex is situated on Kharg Island.

The subject of the Company’s activities, as stipulated in Article 2 of the Articles of Association, includes the construction, commissioning, and operation of industrial plants for the purpose of producing, marketing, selling, and exporting various petrochemical products, such as sulfur, butane, propane, pentane, heavier petroleum products, methanol, and any type of cyclic or linear petroleum substances, or any similar chemical materials.
